Professional heashot of Donald Siegel

Donald Siegel

Donald Siegel recently retired from Segal, Roitman LLP after fifty years as a union/benefit funds lawyer. While in private practice, Don negotiated and defended Project Labor Agreements with both public and private developers, and represented parties to those Agreements before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and the United States Supreme Court. Don served as General Counsel of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, The Massachusetts Building Trades Council, and other Building Trades Councils. Don’s employee benefit fund practice included both ERISA and non-ERISA funds, as well as public and privately-sponsored funds, that collectively contained more than a billion dollars of assets. In the course of his practice, Don negotiated scores of collective bargaining agreements and appeared in state and federal courts, administrative tribunals, and innumerable arbitrations.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin and Harvard Law School, Don joined Segal & Flamm in 1971, and worked there and in successor firms until his retirement. Don received the Archdiocese of Boston Award for Excellence in Labor Relations as well as a Certificate of Merit from the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and has been elected to the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
